BunCo — Account and Data Deletion
Last updated: 2026-08-16
This page explains how to delete your BunCo account and data. It is published so that the deletion route is reachable from outside the app, as required by Google Play's account deletion policy.
App: BunCo (com.bunco.app)
Developer contact: privacy@berkayboran.com
Method 1 — Delete in the app (recommended, immediate)
This is the fastest and most complete route.
- Open BunCo
- Go to the Settings tab
- Privacy & Data → Delete Account
- If you are signed in, enter your password
- Type
DELETEin the confirmation box and tap Delete Account
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Method 2 — Request deletion by email
If you have uninstalled the app, no longer have access to your phone, or have forgotten your password:
Email privacy@berkayboran.com from the address registered to your account with the subject:
Subject: Delete my account and data
We ask you to send the request from your account's own email address because that is the only way we can verify it is you. Requests from other addresses cannot be processed — doing so would let anyone have someone else's account deleted.
Requests are completed within 30 days, and we confirm when done.
What gets deleted
Removed from the server entirely:
- Your account: email address, password hash (argon2id), display name
- All of your session records — every device is signed out at deletion time
- Your group membership links and any invites you created
- Groups where you are the only linked account, including all expenses, members, settlements, budgets, comments and notes inside them
Removed from your device entirely (Method 1):
- All local database content (groups, members, expenses, settlements, budgets, comments)
- Keychain / Android Keystore contents — including IBAN and payment details
- App preferences and scheduled notifications
What is kept — and why
Groups you share with other people are not deleted. The expense history inside them is not only your data: who owes whom rests entirely on those records. Your right to delete your own account should not destroy other people's financial records.
In those groups:
- If you are the owner, ownership passes to the earliest-joined remaining member
- Your display name as a member and your past expense records remain, so that other members' settlements stay correct
- Your account identity (email, password, account name) is still deleted; the remaining records are no longer linked to any account
If you want to remove your trace from a group as well, leave the group before deleting your account, or ask the other members to delete the group.
About IBAN
Your IBAN and payment details are never sent to our server — they are kept only in your device's secure hardware store (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). There is no server record to delete; Method 1 removes them from your device.
